Afternoon Tea at The Ritz

The Palm Court remains a pivotal social point as the venue for the famed Afternoon Tea at The Ritz, an institution in itself and a quintessential British experience. Guests can enjoy an extensive selection of 18 different types of loose leaf tea. Indulge in finely cut sandwiches with classic fillings together with freshly baked scones with strawberry preserve and clotted Devonshire cream, followed by a delectable selection of afternoon tea cakes and pastries.

In keeping with the beautiful surroundings of The Palm Court and the customs of traditional Afternoon Tea service, pretty chinaware, silver teapots, silver milk jugs and tea strainers are used which perfectly complement the charm of the room. The elegant ambiance of tea at The Ritz is complete with immaculately presented waiters and musical accompaniment from our resident pianist and harpist who never cease to delight guests with classical and modern favourites.

Sittings

Afternoon Tea is served daily at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm, and 7.30pm.

Entertainment

Every day between the times of 11.30am and 9.00pm you will be entertained by our resident pianist. Harpist or String Quintet playing classic and contemporary tunes whilst you enjoy your delectable Afternoon Tea.

Every Tuesday – Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.45pm, Soprano Miranda Heldt will entertain you with her sensational voice and charismatic charm.

DRESS CODE

Reflecting the elegant nature of the hotel’s architecture The Ritz London has a dress code in different areas of the hotel as follows: Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie (jeans and sportswear are not permitted for either ladies or gentlemen) for afternoon tea in The Palm Court and for lunch and dinner in The Ritz Restaurant and Terrace. In all other areas of the hotel (The Ritz Restaurant breakfast service, The Rivoli Bar, The Long Gallery) and The Ritz Club, smart casual attire is suitable. Please note that trainers and sportswear are not permitted in any of the hotel or Club’s restaurants or bars.
