Champagne Dinners

The Ritz London is proud to announce a limited number of exclusive dinners with carefully selected luxury Champagne houses.

Featuring the House of Louis Roederer and Cristal

On Friday 11th November 2016 in the extravagant surroundings of the William Kent Room, indulge in a special historical event to celebrate the creation of Cristal Champagne.

In June 1867, at the request of King William I of Prussia, a meal to be remembered and at which no expense was to be spared for himself and his guests, was held at the Café Anglais in Paris. The cellar master, Claudius Burdel, was instructed to accompany the dishes with the greatest wines in the world, including a Roederer champagne in a special lead glass bottle so he could admire the bubbles and golden colour.

Chef John Williams MBE, has created a modern day Escoffier influenced five course banquet that is inspired by the original 1867 menu. Crafted using the best British produce, each course will be carefully paired with Louis Roederer and vintage Cristal Champagne.

To guide you through this special occasion, will be Mr Mark Bingley, Master of Wine. Soon after graduating from Cambridge, Mark became fascinated by the mystery and variety of fine wines and Champagne. Mark has been a Master of Wine for 30 years and is Chair of the Events & Tastings Committee for the Institute of Masters of Wine.

The evening will commence from 6:30pm.
