Retail Therapy
London's shopping is as unique as it is legendary. From the bespoke tailors of Jermyn Street and exclusive department stores like Harvey Nichols to the bustle and fun of Covent Garden's market stalls or Oxford's golden mile of shops, the range and choice is fantastic. Below are some of London's best loved shopping experiences.
Ritz Fine Jewellery
Unique in design and undeniably desirable in it's appeal, the collection of jewellery and watches encapsulates all the style, glamour and sophistication associated with The Ritz London. Since launching their first shop in November 2000, Ritz Fine Jewellery has now opened a second shop on Bond Street
Bond Street
The name of Bond Street is famous the world over for being synonymous with exclusive jewellers, leading fashion houses, art and antiques. From Asprey, Garrard and Southeby's to Armani, Chanel and Gucci, the entire street acts as a showpiece for the world's most exquisite and most sought after goods.
Piccadilly Arcade
Step back in time into a beautiful and elegant shopping arcade where grand Edwardian style is matched by traditional values and goods of outstanding quality. This beautiful arcade is just a stone's throw from The Ritz and still looks much as it did when it opened in 1909, making it a favourite film set.
Jermyn Street
Running parallel to Piccadilly, this famous street is famous for its celebrated shirtmakers. Along it you will find a plethora of shops selling both 'off the peg' and bespoke shirts, not to mention other mens' accessories such as hats and shoes. Many stores now cater to women as well. Steeped in tradition, the street features a statue of Beau Brummel. Isaac Newton once lived here.
Burlington Arcade
This covered shopping arcade, moments from The Ritz, opened in 1819 "for the sale of jewellery and fancy articles of fashionable demand, for the gratification of the public". Its aim remains the same, with many fine clothes stores, jewellers, art and antique dealers on show. The Arcade is patrolled by 'Beadles' in traditional top hats and tailcoats.
The King's Road
Once the epitome of London's 'swinging sixties', Chelsea's King's Road still retains an atmosphere all on its own. There are many unique boutiques and shops selling cutting-edge fashions and accessories. Or just relax in the friendly pubs and cafés and watch as passers by put on a virtual fashion parade of their own.
