How much does Afternoon Tea at The Ritz cost?
We offer several Afternoon Tea experiences, our prices are as follows

Ritz Traditional Afternoon Tea £45
Champagne Tea £57
Celebration Tea £56

What time is Afternoon Tea served?
Afternoon Tea is served in The Palm Court at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm and 7:30pm

What is the best way to book?
Online is the fastest and easiest way to book. The availability is "real time" and you will receive an instant email confirmation.

How can I be sure that my online booking is safe?
Our booking form operates on a secure server. Additionally, your information or personal details will not be passed on to any third parties.

What do I need to make a booking?
You will need a valid credit card in order to guarantee your booking. No charges will be made to the credit card at this time. You will also need to provide your name, address, telephone number and email address

What if I have a voucher?

How far in advance do I need to book?
Due to the popularity of afternoon tea booking in advance is a must. For reservations on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays the booking period is approximately four weeks ahead. For reservations on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the booking period is approximately three to five months ahead.

It may be easier to make a booking for 11:30 or 19:30

What if I need to amend the date of my booking?
Subject to availability, it is possible to reschedule your afternoon tea. Please email tea@theritzlondon.com.

What if I need to cancel?
Cancellation is free of charge if the Hotel receives notification by 2pm local London time, 2 days (48 hours) prior to arrival. After this time a penalty charge will apply.

If afternoon tea is fully booked, is there a waiting list?
There is no waiting list. However, since our online booking system is in real time you can use it to check to see whether any tables have become available on your preferred date.

For how many people can I reserve for?
If you book online, you can reserve for up to 5 people. By telephone, you can reserve for a maximum of 12 people. It will generally be a table of 8 joined with a table of 4. But the number of tables are not confirmed.

I have been given a voucher, how do I make a reservation?

You can book online.  A credit card is still needed in order to guarantee the booking but the credit card will not be charged.

In the extras section of the online booking (step 4) You must tell us that you have a voucher, please enter your voucher number into this section.

Do I need to bring my voucher on the day?
Yes, please ensure that you do bring your voucher on the day, otherwise we may ask you for an alternative form of payment

How do I buy a voucher as a gift?
Please visit our online gift shop by clicking here.

If the price of Afternoon Tea changes, do I have to pay the difference?
No, the price of your Afternoon Tea is fixed for the life of the voucher. (vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase)

My voucher is about to expire, can I extend it?
You can extend your voucher for an additional 6 months (a charge will apply).

How do I get there?

When should I arrive?
You should arrive ten minutes before your reservation time in order to fully enjoy The Ritz Afternoon Tea experience.

How long will the experience last for?
Enjoying Afternoon Tea takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Is parking available?
We offer valet parking (a charge will apply)

Can I leave any items with you?
We offer a cloakroom for coats, hats and umbrellas however, due to limited space we are unable to store any other items for you.

What will my Afternoon Tea consist of?
A choice of several varieties of tea, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream and a range of delicate pastries.

When do I pay for my Afternoon Tea?
After your tea you will need to make payment before you leave The Palm Court.

How can I pay for my Afternoon Tea?
You can pay by credit card (we accept all major credit cards), cash or Afternoon Tea gift voucher.

Please kindly note that for bookings of 6 guests or more, the full prepayment is required one week prior to your reservation.

What shall I wear?

The dress code of The Ritz reflects the ambience and style of the different areas of the hotel.  In The Ritz Restaurant and The Palm Court, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie, with the exception of breakfast; jeans and sportswear are not permitted. Smart casual attire is requested for The Rivoli Bar and The Long Gallery.  Please note that sports shoes are not permitted in The Ritz Restaurant, The Rivoli Bar or The Palm Court at any time.

Is there a minimum age?
There is no minimum age. Afternoon Tea at The Ritz is for all ages!

How much is afternoon tea for children?
Afternoon tea is half price for children under the age of 15. Children prices are as follows:

Ritz Traditional Afternoon Tea £22.50
Celebration Tea £28.00


Do you provide high chairs?

We can provide a high chair. Please request this at the time of booking

Does the same dress code apply for children?
The dress code does not apply for children under the age of 15.

Do you offer any other beverages other than tea?

We offer coffee or hot-chocolate and an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

I have a dietary requirement, can you cater for me?
Here at The Ritz we cater for most dietary requirements. Please email tea@theritzlondon.com for a full menu.  Please note that menu items are subject to change.

Please be aware that 48 hours notice is required for us to cater for your dietary requirement.

Unfortunately we cannot cater for guests with an allergy to nuts as we are unable to prevent airborne cross contamination from sections of the kitchen where nuts are an ingredient in food preparation.
