Champagne Taittinger
Dinner at The Ritz London
Wednesday 24th March 2010 We are delighted to present the first Champagne Dinner of 2010 at The Ritz London, together with the House of Taittinger. Champagne Taittinger is one of the few Champagne Houses to remain owned and actively managed by the family. Today, Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger heads up this famous house whose origins date back to 1734. In honour of this special occasion, our Executive Chef John Williams has created a remarkable four course menu cleverly matched with some of the finest offerings from Champagne Taittinger. The Taittinger Dinner will be held on Wednesday 24th March in the magnificent 18th century surroundings of William Kent House, commencing with a Champagne and canapé reception in The Marie Antoinette Suite and followed by dinner in The Music Room. Justin Llewelyn (UK Ambassador for Champagne Taittinger), will be on hand to advise how best to appreciate the differing styles of the wines which, combined with the culinary expertise of the Chef's menu, promises a unique and memorable dining experience. Prices are £165 per person and places at this exclusive event are restricted. In order to avoid disappointment, immediate reservations are recommended. For table reservations and booking information, please contact Natalie Jones in The Ritz Events Department by email at njones@theritzlondon.com or by telephone on +44 (0)20 7300 2223.
The Grand Young Lady of Piccadilly has had a Facelift!
The Ritz was the talk of the town last month when the legendary Piccadilly landmark underwent some very public cosmetic surgery! Passers by watched as the Thomann-Hanry cherry picker started on Arlington Street, turning left down the Piccadilly facade and finishing up at the west facing Green Park end of the building, every day revealing more of the exterior in its original sandstone colour of yesteryear. Despite the terrible weather conditions in February which included wind, rain, sleet and snow the dry cleaning process only took three weeks to complete.

Enjoy a three course pre theatre dinner served in The Ritz Restaurant, a glass of Champagne and a top price ticket to see Mrs Warren's Profession, starring Felicity Kendal at the Comedy Theatre for £85. Mrs Warren’s daughter, Vivie, has never really known much about her mother. A prim young woman, she has enjoyed a comfortable upbringing, a Cambridge education, a generous monthly allowance and now has ambitions to go into Law. Is it conceivable that all this privilege and respectability has been financed from the proceeds of the oldest profession? How will Vivie react when she finds out the awful truth about her mother’s ill-gotten gains? Shaw’s ultimate test of a mother-daughter relationship is one of his most witty and provocative plays.
"It is much my best play. Ah, when I wrote it, I had some nerve." To book simply call See Tickets on +44 (0)871 297 0777 and quote 'The Mrs Warren's Profession Ritz package'
