Welcome to the December issue of The Ritz enewsletter! As 2007 draws to a close please join me to look back on some of the highlights of another rewarding year at The Ritz. In January our spectacular new private dining rooms in William Kent House, the magnificent 18th century mansion house adjoining the hotel, were officially opened to great acclaim after an extensive period of renovation. Additionally, three new residential suites - the Arlington, the Royal and the Prince of Wales, complement The Ritz' unique collection of luxury suites. In May we were delighted when The Ritz was named a regional winner by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for the restoration of William Kent House at it's annual RIBA awards. Since the new banquet rooms are still only in their first year of operation, the RIBA Award is truly a great honour for us all at The Ritz and a special acknowledgement to our owners for the investment and attention they demonstrated during this special project. Further recognition for The Ritz followed in November with a Leaders Club Silver Award, presented by Leading Hotels of the World to hotels who have been consistently recognized by Leaders Club Members for their exceptional welcome and attention to guests. The spotlight has also shone on The Ritz in recent awards listings in Conde Nast Traveller, Institutional Investor and Conference and Incentive Travel. I am delighted we have again been acknowledged as one of the finest hotels in the world today, and particularly by such prestigious international organisations. The Ritz London wins Leaders Club Members Award
The Ritz London has won a Leaders Club Silver Award at the Leading Hotels of the World Annual General Meeting held in Monaco in November. The recipients of the Leaders Club award this year were chosen based on responses to post-stay questionnaires and letters received from Leaders Club Members who consistently complimented the winning hotels on the exceptional welcome and attention extended to their guests. On the occasion of the tenth year these awards have been presented, each of the winners received a commemorative silver plaque designed exclusively for The Leading Hotels of the World by Christofle. Accepting the award from Jean-Jacques Gauer, Chairman of Leading Hotels of the World, Ritz General Manager Stephen Boxall said "We are proud and honoured to be the recipient of this prestigious award and to have been recognised in such prestigious company. The Leaders Club Silver Award is a testament both to the loyalty and dedication of the staff of The Ritz and to the investment made by our owners in ensuring that the hotel is looking better than it did when it opened almost 102 years ago."
